Called a "witty, fast-paced satire" by Kirkus Reviews, Hunting of the Bubblenuff follows the adventures of Fabian Vermeer, an eccentric 19-year-old who lives in the fictional world of Lornholm. He is both a Priest and Inquisitor by profession, acting in the service of the Church of Solomn, god of Justice and Fluffy Clouds. Yet Fabian’s true, lifelong passion is “Cryptonaturalism”: the study of hidden, mythical beasts like the candy-cane antlered Sugar Moose, the Solardillo, (a 40-foot high hamster that runs around in a giant bamboo ball and is used to clear brush), and the dreaded Bubblenuff (which can only be slain with a sharpened yam).  Click here for a Chapter 1 preview.  Creature concepts by Joshua Goldfond. The National Triumph League (NTL)

The cover of NTL comic #1, featuring the in-story fantasy sports guide and power suppression pills, Prometheum.

The NTL presents a world where super-powered beings are traded between cities like professional athletes, all the while competing to capture villains (“Moriarties”) in what is the planet’s most popular sport: “Triumph.” What would the pressures of their lives be like, and how would the wear-and-tear of the job affect their bodies and souls? When would the line blur between hero and celebrity? As professional athletes, media personalities, and living gods rolled into one, these “Triumphants” would face extraordinary scrutiny and danger. A study of their struggles would reveal not just the nature of competition and heroism, but also the values of their society.

This property involved the creation of several comic book scripts, dozens of pieces of concept art, a story bible, and a full-length feature film script.

Set in the late 90s in the Rust Belt city of Bellport, Mr. Hood is the tale of Derek Roberts, a 22-year-old man whose link to the “Ares Bioform” has given him awesome strength, super-speed, and the ability to sprout organic weapons, such as nail claws and bone-shard guns. Orphaned and brutalized by an impoverished city, Derek was rescued and adopted by the Soviet defector Peter Leonivich Marchenko, a biochemist who worked secretly as Bellport's famous local vigilante, known as “St. Hood.” Derek became a pupil and potential successor, and Marchenko  eventually injected Derek with a more potent version of the drug that gave him his own superhuman abilities. Unfortunately, Derek's unconscious mind immediately seizes on the substance, using it to make manifest Derek's feelings of rage and pain.

A series pitch bible was created, two issues of  this series were completed in a limited print run, with scripts for three more issues and a TV pilot.
